Just like lots of other families up and down the UK, we’ve got lots of old photos stored in boxes and bags.
Occasionally, we’ll take a look at a few when our now teenage daughters want to have a laugh at their younger selves.
But just like everyone else, most of these wonderful old photo prints remain neglected in the back of cupboards and in lofts.
For a family wedding I was asked to scan some old photos of the groom. Everyone loved seeing the old family house, the battered ride-on tractors, much-loved and missed pets and cheeky little brothers climbing up ladders.
After the wedding it struck me that maybe other people would like to have their old photo prints scanned too. So I scratched the itch and started Scan Factory.
Scanning old photos lets you enjoy, share and save priceless memories. But it’s a laborious, time consuming job and you need fast computers, dedicated scanners and special imaging software.
More About Me
I’m John Cronin and I live in Hoylake, Wirral with my family. I have a background in computer programming and testing, website publishing and domain name sales. I run marathons and eat cake quite a lot… the two complement one another quite nicely (fortunately)!
I’ve published Hoylake Junction for many years and always enjoy publishing old photos of the area that readers kindly scan and send me.
That little, red shorts wearing, blonde-haired boy in the photo on our home page is me, with my old friend Nichola who lived next door.
